1st to 14th SEPTEMBER 2020 - HINDI SAPTAH:


The week leading up to the Hindi Diwas is always abuzz with activity and this year too,

students participated in various activities and competitions as part of the Hindi Diwas

Celebrations.


CLASS I – COLOURING SWAR

The students drew and coloured pictures based on any two Swars. They followed the

instructions given & created their best drawings.


CLASS II – COLOURING VYANJAN

The students of Std. II drew any two Vyanjans. They had to write the letter and draw a picture

related to the vyanjan. They were able to complete both the pictures within the given time

frame.


CLASS III – HINDI RECITATION COMPETITION

A Hindi recitation competition for the students of Std III was conducted as part of the Hindi

Diwas celebrations. The students recited a poem of their choice with clarity and good

expression. Some of them had penned the poem themselves with the help of their parents.

Many of the children made a small poster to compliment the poem they were reciting.

Overall, it was a very enriching activity for the children and an entertaining one for the judges.

The winners were judged on the following criteria – Memorization, Presentation, Pause &

Pace, Clarity & Expression.


CLASS IV & V – PICTURE READING COMPETITION

A Picture Reading Competition was held for Std. IV & V. The students were shown a picture and they had to describe the picture in Hindi. Through the competition, students developed their Hindi communication skills & understood the importance of the language. The judges were awed to see the children speaking well in Hindi. Three winners from each class were selected and they received e-certificates for their efforts. Through the activity, children were also introduced to extempore talking at a very young age.


CLASS VI – ONE ACT PLAY

The students of Class VI unfolded the use of the Hindi language through a One Act Play

Competition. To read and speak a language are two important aspects of learning a language.

Students were expected to take it a step further by expressing their ideas through a one act

play. Students participated with immense zeal and enthusiasm and gave very impactful

messages. It was a great opportunity to watch these young minds creating and displaying their act on screen.


CLASS VII – POSTER MAKING COMPETITION:

A poster making competition was held for the students of Std. VII

The themes were as follows:

(i) Cleanliness (ii) Safety (iii) Coronavirus (iv) Gender Equality

Students were asked to express their ideas through paintings and sketches. They made beautiful posters with impactful messages. It was a great opportunity to watch these young

minds creating and displaying their ideas on paper.


CLASS VIII – KAHANI SUNAO – A STORY TELLING SESSION


“To involve people at the deepest level, you need stories”.


Kahani sunao or story telling is described as an art, not a process, method, or technique.

Every culture has its own stories or narratives, which are shared as a means of entertainment,

education, cultural preservation or instilling moral values. Keeping alive the tradition of stories,

a story telling session was conducted for the students of Std. VIII. Students fabricated their

own stories in the most impressive way to influence the judges. The audience enjoyed

listening to the stories as much as the participants enjoyed narrating them.


CLASS IX – KAHOOT QUIZ


“Learning gives Creativity, Creativity leads to Thinking,

Thinking provides Knowledge, Knowledge makes us Great….”


Quiz competitions are always interesting and informative and at the same time provide

excitement among the students.

An online Kahoot Quiz competition was conducted for the students of Std. IX which served the purpose of a brief assessment to gauge the skills, abilities, and knowledge of students in Hindi language. There were thirty stimulating questions which made the students excited to answer them quickly within the set time limit. It was really fun to see how students were answering and trying to reach the top position after each question.
