Independence Day – 15th Aug, 2020
It was a red-letter day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years for us to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show.
Due to the pandemic situation, this year, we were forced to celebrate the Independence Day in confines of our homes through virtual platform. The celebration started with the Flag hoisting ceremony at 9:40 am live on You Tube. Our Principal, Ms.Candice Braganza along with some members of the P.E. Staff and Admin. Department, hoisted the flag in the school campus. It was followed by playing the national anthem on instrument and pledge by Bhavesh Chindaliya. Then a special assembly was conducted by the students of Std. 10th.
The assembly started with the special prayer by Sania Ann. It was followed by the thought for the day given by Varad Bhanap. Then the speech for the Independence Day was delivered by Shaurya Agarwal, the Head boy of the school.
A special assembly is never complete without a song. There was the patriotic song ‘Hum kare Rashtra Aradhan’ sung by a group of students and it was followed by a beautifully choreographed classical dance in the Odissi style. The budding poet of std. X, Raj Aryan Yadav, then recited the self composed poem on the freedom struggle – ‘Azadi ka Palatwar’.
The assembly was concluded by singing Vande Mataram by the students accompanied by the playing of instruments by the students.
As the programme was live online parents also joined the celebrations and it was liked by everyone. Indeed it was an excellent presentation.
