Investiture Ceremony 2016
The Fourth Investiture Ceremony was held on Friday 5th February, 2016 at 8:00 am. It was a solemn function. The function was held at the assembly in the presence of the students, staff and parents of the Prefectural body.
The process of electing the students council began in the month of January when the students of STD VIII and IX were asked to give their nominations. The nominees were then shortlisted by the teachers. Performance in academics, participation in sports and other curricular activities as well as the student’s behavior was taken into consideration.
The eligible candidates addressed the school in the School assembly on Wednesday, 27th January, 2016 as to why the students should vote for them.
Computerized voting was held on Friday, 29th January, 2016 in which students from STD V to X took part thus ensuring that the entire process was free and fair. The aim and objective of assigning the responsible posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captains, House Captains and Prefects is to inculcate the qualities of leadership, discipline and responsible service.
The ceremony commenced with the prayer song. Shreya Sawant of STD VIII gave a speech on ‘Leadership’. And then the Section Coordinators, Secondary section Mrs. Swapna Nair and the Primary section Mrs. Bindu Manoharan compered the Investiture ceremony. Mrs. Mrinalini Bhosale, the Principal gave the badges to the members of the secondary and the primary student council and administered the oath. During the ceremony the leaders of the Prefectural Board and students’ council pledged to uphold the dignity and integrity of the institution and support the views and plans of the School.
Pratham Shenwai and Diyuti Anand of STD VIII bid farewell to the students of Std X through their speech and poem.
The Principal congratulated the parents and office bearers. She said that they are shouldering a very great responsibility. The School has placed great trust in them and they should carry out their duties to the best of their abilities and try their best to live up to the expectations of the students and teachers. The Principal also conveyed our best wishes for the board exam to the first batch of Std X students.
The parents of the Office bearers were also invited to witness this epic event in the lives of their wards. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. Snacks were served in the Audio Visual Room for the parents.
