The 71st Republic Day was celebrated at Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Lohegaon with great zeal and patriotic fervour. Each member of the school was soaked in hues of tri colour and their enthusiasm knew no bounds as they celebrated the sovereignty of the nation.
The ceremony began by welcoming the Chief Guest Dr. Manoj Narwade, trustee of Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation. The Chief Guest then unfurled the National Flag which was followed by singing of the National anthem and saluting the flag.
The students of Std 8 then presented the morning assembly which included a prayer to take blessings from the almighty God. Shubhkarman Kaur student of Std 8, then presented the thought for the day. The students then updated the audience with the current national and international news. Mugdha Patil enlightened the audience with her enthralling speech which evoked a sense of national pride and identity in the hearts of our young students.
The school choir then sung songs of national glory to enrich an essence of patriotism in the students. The Chief Guest then felicitated the state and national players of our institution to appreciate their hard work and commitment by giving them prizes.
This was then followed by the Inter-house group singing competition by the four houses of our institution. The Ruby, Emerald, Coral and Sapphire houses sang patriotic songs with great devotion towards our nation.
The program was then succeeded by Inter house dance competition presented by the young and enthusiastic students of Std. I and II of our school. The audiences were elated by their astounding performances. The energy and patriotism displayed by the students aroused a sense of national pride for one and all.
The Program culminated with the principal addressing the audience and inspiring us by her speech. The winners of the Inter-house Singing and Dance competition were declared. Emerald House emerged winners of the Inter-House singing competition and Ruby House was declared as the winner of the Inter-house dance competition.
The students were then led back to their respective classes where they were treated with sweets. The program thus ended on a sweet note with students carrying a feeling of national integrity and honour back to their home.
