Road Safety Week
The Road Safety Week was celebrated all over Indian from 11th January to 17th January 2017. As a part of this initiative the Pune Traffic Police Department, Yerwada Branch, organized a rally comprising of the students from various schools.
The students of Std VI, VII and VIII of VPMS, Lohegaon participated in this rally with enthusiasm and fervour , the day started with the students from schools like SNBP, Shamrao Moze School and Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Lohegaon assembling at the Moze School and Jr. College ground on 17th January 2017 where the students were briefed on the importance of the ‘Road safety Week’ by the traffic officials. The rally started at the Moze school ground and the students covered all the major signals and junctions in the Sashtri Nagar area, holding banners and shouting out slogans on ‘Road Safety’. The students of VPMS, Lohegaon also distributed postcards to the public with social messages printed on them like ‘Be Aware Move With Care’,’ Love Safety ,Marry Rules, Divorce Speed’, ‘Stop, Look, Listen’, ‘It’s Not a Race! Create Space ’etc. They also put up a street play on ‘Road Safety’ which was well appreciated by the students and teachers of the various schools, passerby’s and the traffic officials. The rally ended at the Pune Traffic Police Station, Shastri Nagar, where the children were served snacks and the teachers were felicitated by the police official.
All in all it was a good experience for the students as they made their contribution towards society in spreading awareness among the masses.
