Special Assembly on ‘Shetkari Diwas’
Always do your best, what you plant now, you WILL harvest later
‘ShetkariDiwas’ celebration was held in the Multipurpose hall of VPMS, Lohegaon. The Government Resolution had declared 29th August, the birthday of Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil as Shetkari Diwas, to honour the founder’s contribution towards the farmers. The hall was decorated with ‘Vrundavan and Tulsi ’, colourful pots and hay to depict a village scene.
The programme commenced with the school prayer, ‘Teri Hai Zameen’. This was followed by a Marathi speech by Shristi Chavanand Swayam Ustoorikar of STD VIII, which laid emphasis on the founder, and also explained the importance of ‘farmers’ in our lives. The students of STD IV and V gave a spectacular performance through a dance form to show the happiness of the farmers during the harvest season.
Life is a process of constant change, hence, we had our housekeeping staff singing the ‘Powada’ which was a musical presentation. This was a good narrative in praise of the founder. This act also played a key role in promoting Marathi folk art. The entire programme was planned, coordinated and conducted by the students under the mentoring and grooming of the teachers.
As the saying goes, ‘A Farmer Does Not Know a Day Off’, We at VPMS, make our dream come true through hard work and determination to achieve success, rather than being ‘well rested’ and achieving nothing.
